Dr. Rao is a highly qualified, Australian-trained Neurosurgeon. He began his remarkable career with a medical degree from the prestigious Bangalore Medical College followed by a Master of Surgery from Gujarat University, India, where he ranked 6th for the university.

After relocating to Australia, Dr. Rao worked in Neurosurgery at John Hunter Hospital and The Canberra Hospital before starting SET training in General Surgery in Sydney (Hurstville Private and Campbelltown Hospitals). Dr. Rao completed further SET training in Neurosurgery at The Canberra Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Westmead Children’s Hospital, The Prince of Wales Hospital, and Royal North Shore Hospital. 

Specialised Expertise

Dr. Rao obtained a fellowship in Neurosurgery from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016 and then completed PhD in Spine at The University of New South Wales. 

Dr. Rao underwent further specialisation in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal tumours, and complex spine surgery at the prestigious Royal Adelaide Hospital and peripheral nerve surgery at the renowned Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore, London.   

 His postdoctoral specialisation in minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal tumours, complex spine surgery, and peripheral nerve surgery in prestigious institutions both in Australia and London underscores his commitment to mastering his craft.
